Artur Gruszczak teaches the course Justice and Home Affairs in the EU - Schengen, Refugees and Migrants in Times of Crisis in the first year of the Executive Master in EU Studies.
He is Professor of Social Sciences, Chair of National Security at the Faculty of International and Political Studies, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. He holds Ph.D. in Political Science from Jagiellonian University in Krakow (1993).
Artur Gruszczak was Junior Visiting Fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (IWM) in Vienna, Visiting Professor at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, Universidad Católica de São Paulo, Complutense University of Madrid, University of Burgos, Manipal University. He also was Skalny Visiting Professor at the University of Rochester, NY.
He has published 11 monographs (four as a co-author), edited and co-edited 9 collected volumes, authored 100 chapters and 60 articles on EU justice and home affairs, security studies, Latin American politics, and democratic transitions.
His principal interests and research areas: EU area of freedom, security and justice; cross-border police and customs cooperation; EU intelligence cooperation.
