François Bafoil teaches the course Political Economy of Energy Transitions in the first study year of the Executive Master in EU Studies.
He is head of research at the CNRS. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Polish language, a PhD and a Habilitation in sociology.
After being assistant at the Lodz university in 1984 - 1985 he spent six years in Berlin, firstly at the Freie Universität Berlin thanks to a grant of the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, then at the WZB (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung).
From 1995 to 2001, he was in Grenoble where he taught at the IEP. Member of the scientific committees of Allemagne d'Aujourd'hui and Le Courrier des Pays de l'Est, he currently teaches the sociology of communism and post communism at the IEP Paris, 1. Cycle of Dijon. In 2002 he was called by the EU expert in charge of the ex ante report concerning Poland.
