Last weekend, the students of the Executive Master in EU Studies gathered in Barcelona for their penultimate workshop.
The session began with a discussion led by Aleix Samarri i Camargo on sub-state nations within the EU’s legal and political framework. This was followed by an engaging interdisciplinary world café session, where students collaborated with their professors to explore migration from the perspectives of EU law, economics, and political science. The first day concluded with a visit to the Parliament of Catalonia, offering students valuable insights into its structure and functioning.
On Saturday, students had the opportunity to present their research to their peers and professors, receiving constructive feedback to refine their work ahead of their final paper and thesis defense in June in Nice. Their research topics span a wide range of pressing EU issues, including the impact of Chinese automotive manufacturers on European automakers, the role of outermost regions in the EU, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, and Sri Lanka's experience with the Generalised Scheme of Preferences, among others.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our faculty—Ralf Kanitz, Tamás Szigetvári, Thomas Traguth, Mattias Wendel, and Wolfgang Wessels—for their invaluable guidance and dedication. A special thank you to our students for their hard work, insightful contributions, and enthusiasm!
