Following the invitation by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) and the Centre international de formation européenne, our participants of the Executive Master in EU Studies were joined by a highly motivated audience to listen to and debated with distinguished representatives of Facebook, Google and the civil society about the effects of online disinformation on democratic processes and what can be done about it in light of the European Parliamentary Election this year.
A big thank you to our partner and host the HIIG, to Ms Julia Pohle (WZB Berlin Social Science Center) who moderated the discussion, to the panelists Lutz Mache (Public Policy and Government Relations Senior Analyst Google), Allegra Pochtler (Head of Business Developement TraceMap), Semjon Rens (Public Policy Manager Facebook, Austria, Germany and Switzerland) and Ann Cathrin Riedel (Chairwoman LOAD e.V.) and of course to the numerous guests in attendance!
